The internet has widened its scope as many people from diverse places have known its advantages. Many things that cannot be done a few years ago are never far from achieving nowadays. Many doors had opened and many opportunities had risen to all its users.


Unfortunately, there are varieties of creative scams and various scam artists that are flooding on the net in contrast to its great benefits; scams that are intentionally designed to entice the users and eventually take advantage of them.  
   

There are numerous online scams that happen without the victim’s notice, which every individual may only realizes that he/she may have been scammed when his/her credit card statement or phone bill arrives.


Nevertheless, there are a number of ways to help guard yourself from online scams. It’s just a matter of knowing and taking the necessary and right precautions in browsing the internet as well as in dealing with different people.


Signs of Online Business Scam


The following are the signs that will greatly help to protect yourself from Online Scams.


  • Inadequate or No Contact Information

A legitimate and highly regarded business gives accurate and complete contact information to be able to locate them promptly and without difficulty. Conversely, most scam artists provide inadequate or no contact information at all.


  • Unverified References or Testimonials

References and Testimonials are very helpful to promote every business. But scam artists are using this tool to entice the readers and use it for there own benefits. Furthermore, references or testimonials can be easily made up by any person without truth in it. If there’s no way to contact the person involved, be careful.


  • “Get Rich Quick” Scheme

These days, various showy “get rich quick” advertisements are flooding the internet. That is, making thousands of dollars with less or no effort on your part. Do you think it’s possible? Getting more money takes a lot of patience and hard work. Follow your instincts. Don’t be fooled with “too good to be true” promises!


  • Pressured to Make A Decision

Companies who only persuade you to make a decision right away and accept their offer but fails to give you sufficient and reasonable information for your own judgment, be careful—it’s a scam!


  • Fake Alliance

One way to verify the authenticity of certain Company is by checking if it’s a genuine member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) or Chamber of Commerce – on the Web™ (previously International Council of Online Professionals or iCop). Many Companies are using their logo (by means of copy-paste) just to “look” legitimate—beware!
